March 2019 KOREH MOVING FORWARD
Learning Something New About Ourselves
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that is totally new? For many of us, it can be intimidating, scary, and uncomfortable, but on occasion, new situations can also be exciting and engaging. Each and every time we push ourselves into new situations, we open up new possibilities to learn about ourselves and our world.
This past month has been an incredible opportunity to learn who we are at the Kol Rinah Education Hub (KoREH). Just a few weeks ago, an amazing article was written about our learning community by Bill Motchan in the St. Louis Jewish Light. If you haven’t read it yet, I hope you will take a look:
It was an incredible joy to have our families, our students, our teachers, and our staff featured front and center in such a positive light. The flood of compliments and inquiries about the school and our innovative take on Jewish learning have been incredibly energizing.
But even more than this, we have renewed our vision to always make our learning accessible to everyone who walks in the door. So if you are someone who has never experienced the KoREH learning community, I am formally inviting you to come and learn with us! On Saturday, April 13, from 10am-12pm, we will be holding our second Yom Iyyun (a day of special learning) open to the entire community. On that Shabbat morning, we will have learning activities that mirror our formal program for learners from Pre-Kindergarten through 7th grades, as well as a separate in depth learning experience for adults. It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the community in a new way, to build connections with other wonderful people, and to hopefully learn something new about the amazing person you are.
If you, or another family you know, might be interested in joining our learning community more formally, we will be having an Educational Open House on Sunday, April 14 from 4-5pm at the home of Sharon Rosenberg and Al Snyder, as well as a KoREH preview day on Sunday, May 5
from 9:30am-12:30pm. As always if you want to learn more about KoREH, please call the office or send me an email: email@example.com.
