Our Purim Family Program was a great success! Throughout the week of Purim, children did a mitzvah project of bringing in canned/boxed food items that were donated to the Covenant Place food pantry. On Purim, children dressed in their costumes and sang songs and then paraded their way to a variety of activities. Children and their families visited the carnival, made playdough hamantashen, and decorated puppets for each of the characters in the Purim story. At the conclusion of the activities, children and their families were treated to delicious hamantashen cookies. Each child also took home a Mishloach Manot bag from Kol Rinah
to their family.
At our Family Passover Program, children and their families built pyramids like the pyramids in Egypt, split and crossed the Red Sea, made playdough matzah at the matzah bakery, and enjoyed a yummy charoset treat.
On Friday, April 20, KRECC was excited to partner with PJ Library and Kol Rinah Young Families to celebrate Yom Ha ‘Atzmaut. During the program families experienced hands-on, interactive learning as we “visited” different cities in Israel. This program was produced thanks to a generous donation from Kol Rinah Sisterhood.
In June, we kick off our Summer Camp! Camp enrollment is open for any child ages 2-5. This summer’s theme will be experiencing the world through Eric Carle. We will explore rainbows, cooking, outer space, the human body, friendship, make believe and more through classic stories such as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, From Head to Toe and The Mixed-Up Chameleon. We will spend time in the garden, outdoor classroom, create art, use our imagination in our dramatic play centers, splash around during water play, have special dress-up days once a week and have a few surprise guests for the whole school. The Penguin and Starfish class will also enjoy a field trip to the St. Louis Science Center. We’re looking forward to a great summer!
