July 2018 – ECC NEWS
Our 2017-2018 school year has come to an end! We had a wonderful graduation celebration on May 17th and then enjoyed a field day at Villa Park to close out the year. Children played tee ball, created sidewalk chalk art and explored the playground equipment, yoga with Morah Shelley and a yummy snack of watermelon and pretzels. We concluded with Shabbat with Rabbi Noah, Rabbi Scott and Morah Karen and then had a picnic lunch.
Our summer camp theme this year is “A Summer of Eric Carle.” Children will be completing projects and activities based around his books. We will take a field trip to the Science Center, enjoy a magic show, tie dye t-shirts, participate in special dress days, have daily water play and have a visit from the Kona ice truck on July 11th. Mark your calendar because we’re inviting all Kol Rinah members to come on by from 5-6:30 and purchase a snow cone that day. KRECC will receive 20% of the proceeds to help fund our teacher’s classroom needs for the beginning of the school year.
Preparations are underway for our 2018-2019 school year. We have recently hired Claire Welker as our new Infant/Toddler Supervisor. Ms. Claire taught at KRECC from 2008-2016 as a classroom teacher. Since then, she’s completed her education degree and gained additional teaching and management experience at other early childhood centers. Ms. Claire will be splitting her time at KRECC between the classroom and the supervisory role, as a resource for the infant/toddler classrooms. She is also passionate about family engagement, and will be working with the Directors in this area. We are thrilled to have her back at our school!
